Each weekend, I like to share articles or posts that I consider noteworthy during my week of reading (blogs or otherwise around the web), whether they encourage, challenge, inspire, or just flat-out make me laugh. Sometimes these are “current” links (recently written), and sometimes they’re older articles that I just happened to stumble upon in the past week. I hope you enjoy!
The One Quality of Great and Generous Minds by Edie Wadsworth – This quote says it all, and this post once again proves why Edie is on of my favorites in the vast blogosphere: “I keep reminding myself to stay curious—to cultivate the discipline of being interested in people. Even if you’re not. Even if you already have enough friends. Even when it’s inconvenient. Soon it will become more like habit and years later, you’ll find that what you’ve cultivated is a generous heart.”
The Bends, The Shouting, The Real Work by Shauna Niequist – As a writer, so much of this post speaks to the deep recesses of my writer’s heart. Not only am I thrilled by the fact that Shauna has two books coming down the pipeline, but I love it when she shares a window into her writing process. She will always be one of my absolute favorites.
I’m also completely obsessed with this song, thanks to my sister’s recommendation. I know I’m late to the party, but this couple won The X Factor last year, and they are absolutely adorable! I’ve never been a huge fan of Sara Bareilles’ song “Gravity”… until now. Their version is entrancing. If you want an overdose of adorable, go look up their audition – a truly unique take on “Toxic” by Britney Spears. Love them and can’t wait to own their new album coming out next month!
Enjoy your weekend, friends!
